JAG arbiters also conduct mock appellate arguments and review; serve in court-appointed functions such as receivers, liquidators, trustees, special masters and statutorily appointed judges; and conduct mock jury trials and focus groups.

The Arbiters

Composed exclusively of former trial and appellate judges, each of whom was a distinguished leader during service on the bench, JAG judges bring a commitment to case resolution based on a depth of knowledge and experience with litigants and the legal process.

The History of JAG

36 years of quality in all forms of dispute resolution services

JAG was founded in 1984 in Boulder, Colorado by former Chief District Judge Richard W. Dana and 20th Judicial District Administrator Jerry D. Lockwood, and expanded soon thereafter to include former Colorado Supreme Court Justice William Neighbors. In 2011 the leadership of JAG transitioned to former Judges William Meyer and Sanford Brook, who continue the tradition of quality in all forms of dispute resolution services. JAG now boasts a professional staff of twenty-six arbiters, all former trial and appellate judges representing several regions of the country, and has gained an international reputation for excellence over the past 36 years.

To listen well is as powerful a means of communication and influence as to talk well.
