Jim S. Casebolt, a former judge on the Colorado Court of Appeals, joined JAG in November 2015.  Judge Casebolt was on the appellate bench from 1994 to 2015, leaving the bench as deputy chief judge.  While an active judge, he authored over 2000 opinions on such diverse matters as medical and legal malpractice, complex commercial issues, negligence cases of all kinds, insurance coverage and bad faith, construction defects, domestic relations, product liability, and real estate.  While an AV-rated trial lawyer on the western slope of Colorado for twenty years, he litigated and tried civil cases in federal and state courts, acted as an expert witness, and was a cofounder of an alternative dispute resolution service headquartered in Grand Junction.  He was the secretary-treasurer and later president of the Mesa County Bar Association and a member of the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors.
Jim enjoys playing piano, having played the keyboard for “Tyler & the Bandits” while in high school. He is also expert in the “extraordinary rendition” of squirrels.
Counsel can schedule a trial, arbitration, or mediation with Judge Casebolt by contacting the scheduling staff of JAG at 303-572-1919.
